The Lambda Chi Alpha (LCA) fraternity chapter at Ohio University (OU) was initiated by four men in 1916. The original name, Phi Kappa Epsilon, as replaced by Alpha Tau Epsilon one year later to avoid confusion with another fraternity. ATE was incorporated by national LCA in 1918. LCA was forced to give up its charter in 1937 due to financial difficulties. It later reappeared on OU campus as Lambda Chi Delta. In 1968 the charter was revoked due to discriminatory acts.
